Mission:  St. Francis Catholic Singles (SFCS)  is a contemporary circle of men and women, in their 30s, 40s and 50s who are single or single again and wish to lead more fulfilled, empowered lives by deepening their Catholic spirituality and building community.

We were formed in March 2001 to acknowledge the challenge of living singly in today’s world by offering topics and events that address the following five values:  the spiritual, intellectual, practical, social and charitable. New and returning members always welcome.

Live Your Faith Looking for a hands-on way to live out your faith through service? 

Three to four volunteers only are needed both these Sundays from 5:30 - 7 pm  to  help Project Hospitality serve a home-cooked meal to the homeless and  then to clean-up afterwards.  Meet at Assumption Church, 15 Webster  Avenue 10301 (off Brighton and Castleton Avenue, a couple of  blocks  from Victory Blvd. and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church). Please RSVP  by Monday, March 10 for March 16 or Monday, March 24 for  March 30 by  emailing deborahsucich@aol.com

Which Option is Best for You?  Are you or someone you know in the market for a new vehicle?  Do you want un-biased, accurate information about buying or leasing your next new car or truck whenever that might be?  Join us as Mike Scarpa, President of South Shore Auto Leasing, discusses the benefits and pitfalls of leasing and purchasing.  His discussion will cover financing, customer cash, manufacturer rebates and dealer incentives as well as information regarding refinancing a car you already own and extending leases.  Mike has thirty-five years experience in the automobile business and works for the consumer's needs, not the dealers'.

Saturday, May 3, 2014  Mass and Crown Palace Dinner 

Join us for an enjoyable spring evening starting with 7 pm Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church located in New Dorp, at 90 3rd Street, SI 10306 followed by an 8 pm Dinner at Crown Palace (www.crownpalaceny.com ) at 201 New Dorp Lane (both conveniently located near SI Rapid Transit.) No advance  payment required, however, RSVP is required by emailing  info@sgspsi.org by Monday April 28.

Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 7:15 pm Which Vocation Is for Me?  

Discerning the Next Steps on My Journey A Catholic life can be lived out in one of  three ways:  marriage, the priesthood/religious life, or the single life.  Each can be a beautiful vocation if we truly allow God into our   decision making and life.  Join us as Fred Herron discusses how we can discern which path is the one we and God most  want for us, and how we can discern a later-in-life vocation, perhaps  when our first path has come to an end.  Fred Herron has more than 30years experience in Catholic education, faith formation and spiritual  direction, has addressed national and international audiences on these topics and teaches theology at St. John's University and Fontbonne  Hall Academy where he is Chairperson of the Department of Religious Studies.  He is also the author of several books and articles.

 

Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 4 pm Mass and Pizza 

Join us as we attend 4 pm Mass at the Friary followed by dinner at a nearby pizzeria. 

We'll meet inside the main doors of the Friary at 3:45, so we can enter the chapel and sit together.

SFCS’ 13 th Annual Spring- into- Summer Party 

(Seating begins at 7:30, first course served at 8pm.)

Get your summer, the first day of summer to be exact, off to a celebratory start with dinner and deejay at the Mansion Grand, located by the waterfront at 141 Mansion Avenue, Staten Island 10308 http://mansiongrand.com.  Price includes dinner, a glass of wine and dancing in one of the Mansion Grand's lovely private dining rooms. 

Cost:  $50.00 if received by Thursday, May 22, 2014; $65.00 afterwards (sorry no exceptions).  

No payment at the door. All payments must be received by June 16, 2014.
