Mission: St. Francis Catholic Singles (SFCS) is a contemporary circle of men and women in their 30s, 40s, or 50s who are single or single again and wish to lead more fulfilled, empowered lives by deepening their Catholic spirituality and building community with like-minded peers. We were formed in March 2001 to acknowledge the challenge of living singly in today's world
by offering topics and events that address the following five values:
the spiritual, intellectual, practical, social, and charitable.
New and returning members always welcome.

In order for our prayers to be acceptable to God, we must forgive one another, but forgiveness doesn't mean that we minimize the wrong done to us; it means letting go in love so that we can be reconciled to God and move forward. Therese M. Saulnier will help us explore the need for and nature of forgiveness as well as lead us in a Guided Meditation meant to help us forgive. Therese holds an MA in Theology from Fordham University and has been practicing Centering Prayer for over twenty-five years and using the Forgiveness Prayer for over twenty. CDs of the Forgiveness Prayer will be available for a small fee.
Thursday, April 28, 7:15 pm
Forgiving Ourselves In this Jubilee Year of Mercy,
there is no better time to talk about forgiveness. Yet, "self- forgiveness" is a challenge for many people, leading to feelings of guilt and despair, patterns of rumination, and self-condemnation. In a kind of Part II to "Forgiving Others," Dr. Constance Salhany, a Catholic psychologist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, will discuss how faith, Scripture, and the use of some practical psychological techniques can help us forgive ourselves in small and large matters and help us get unstuck.
Thursday, May 26, 7:15 pm
"Who Am I To Judge?"
The Gifts That Singles Can Give & Receive in the Year of Mercy
Join us as Dr. Fred Herron highlights and celebrates the unique insights that singles have into the experience of mercy that may go unnoticed and unappreciated by their friends, families, and even themselves. Dr.Herron is the Executive Director of the Mariandale Retreat and Conference Center and has more than 30 years experience in Catholic education, faith formation and spiritual direction. He's addressed national and international audiences on these topics and teaches theology at St. John's University and Fontbonne Hall Academy where he is Chairperson of the Religious Department Studies.
